Gainesville
Our Kidpak outreach is an extension of our Kidpak ministry that reaches out into the community. This outreach meets on the first and last Saturdays of the month. We take the message of Jesus Christ into several Government housing complexes in the Gainesville area. Our mission is to show love, share God's love and tell our little brothers and sisters about the one and only "Jesus Christ". We do this by building relationships with the children by providing a monthly lesson; engaging in outdoor activities such as jump rope, hula-hoop, football, basketball and other fun activities. 1 John 4:7 Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.

The Meals on Wheels program is a nutrition program for frail elderly persons living in Hall County. Approximately 400 seniors receive hot lunches delivered by friendly volunteers each Monday through Friday. For some seniors, this daily visit may be the only social interaction they have during the day. Volunteers are also able to make referrals to staff when they notice that clients may have other social services needs. There are 2 different ways you can serve: 1. Volunteers are needed to package food and to deliver meals to older adults in Hall County. Volunteers who package food are needed from 8:30 am to 12:00 noon Monday through Friday to transfer food from large pans into individual meal containers for delivery to the elderly. A person may volunteer for one day per week/once a month or for as many days the volunteer is available. No training is necessary for food packaging volunteers. 2. Volunteers are needed to deliver food to the elderly Monday through Friday with a flexible schedule from 10:30 am to 5:00 pm. Delivery persons will undergo a background check. The meal route takes just one hour. Commitment to deliver meals can be as little as once a month. An orientation will be held for delivery volunteers.

The Hall County Senior Life Center is a nationally accredited senior center open Monday - Friday to persons 60 years of age or older who reside in Hall County. As a wellness and nutrition site, the Senior Life Center features a cardio fitness room, weekly exercise classes, blood pressure screenings, and a nutritious hot lunch. Daily activities include arts and crafts classes, day trips, cards, games, senior clubs and entertainment. Most activities are free of charge to participants, a fee for some trips and special activities may apply. Transportation services are available to and from the Senior Life Center, grocery stores and other special locations. The center provides older adults residing in Hall County with ever-expanding opportunities for personal enrichment through activities that promote health and well-being, support an independent lifestyle, and encourage active involvement in the Center and the community. There are a number of ways to volunteer at the Senior Life Center: 1. Volunteers are needed for the Telephone Reassurance Program which provides a daily telephone call to frail seniors living in Hall County. The program is staffed entirely by volunteers who make daily calls to check on the well being of clients. Any additional supportive social needs identified are referred to staff. If a client cannot be reached, every effort is made to locate the client and ensure their welfare. Also, volunteers are needed to staff the Reassurance telephone lines. Volunteers can make calls from the Telephone Reassurance office or from their home. A commitment of a four hour shift per month is requested. 2. Volunteers who have special talents can volunteer their time with participants. Talents such as singing, playing an instrument, leading an arts and crafts project, teaching a computer class, teaching knitting and crocheting class, or any other talent may be incorporated into the Senior Life Center\'s monthly schedules. 3. Volunteer to support Senior Life Center staff during daily activities and on outings, trips, etc. 4. Our FCserves group will plan three special events (i.e. a Tea for Mother\'s Day; celebration of Father\'s Day; and observance of National Senior Citizen\'s Day, August 21) per year at the center and host the center\'s elderly clients at Free Chapel\'s Wisdom Club luncheons three times a year. Special Needs Children (Sports League)
Saturday

Gainesville
"Angels on the Field" Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. Matt 22:37-40 This is a community service project to support and love our neighbors as Jesus commanded. We will be 1:1 with special needs children and their families that live in Hall and north Gwinnett county. The children will be ages 5 - 12 yrs old learning to play soccer, basketball and Tball. There is no special needs sports program for our local families until now. We need "extra hands" to assist the coaches with the children on the field, encouraging the children, and simply be a loving experience for them and their child. Stats show that most of these families will not have a church home and desperately need the love, acceptance and rest of Christ Jesus. Further, these parents long to see their child enjoying themselves, comfortably in a social setting with other children. We are supported by Orly Vincent, owner of North Gwinnett county i9 Sports Program. i9 Sports is the first and largest franchise sports league whose goal is to help kids succeed in life through sports. No try outs, all skills levels welcome, everyone plays. www.i9sports.com. Orly is providing all of the equipment, fields, marketing, liability coverage, background checks and financial aspects of the project. All coaches must have a background check and that will be performed at no charge by i9 Sports. Free Chapel volunteers will also require a background check at no cost as well, this will be done by FC, see group leaders for details. Our "coaches" are special needs professionals. Each season is 6 weeks long. We play each Saturday around 9 AM or so and go for 75 mins with the children. Total time commitment each Saturday is approximately 2 hours or less. Research shows that while our nation's divorce rate is 50%, couples with a special needs child is much higher with some reports showing 80% by the time the child is 10. Some reports show that 8 of 10 families with a special needs child do not attend church regularly. Free Chapel has a wonderful Special Needs department and we support these families!
